Discussion

An email from Jule follows:

"I know people have been interested in making an AP English T-shirt. I was thinking, that maybe you could make a blog post about it so people could post ideas - a sort of class-brainstorming. Remember, we need to show up all the other AP's!"

Great idea to use the blog for a discussion (not to say that we can't also raise the subject at breakfast tomorrow ... mmm).

Here's one other thought ... if not a shirt, what about a button? I have the materials to make pretty professional looking 2" buttons on the SUPER cheap and then you can stick it to your bag to wear EVERY DAY without anyone having to complain about body odor.

Just another idea to toss around!

I was thinking we could put something really pretentious sounding on it . . . something to show off our fancy trope names and Latinate diction

buttons or shirts, I'm fine with either. Pretentious could be good; I don't expect many people will agree, but I'm also a fan of my group's translation from Latinate to Germanic phrases: "Deity did not error for dormant pork!" As for pretentious, I'm not sure what should be said, but the idea is sound.

about the button and the shirt, i think they both are good. but i think people would want something that's durable, so i'm not sure...a button might break or get scratched...but a shirt might wear off. i think the shirt would last longer, and probably harder to lose.

"Deity did not error for dormant pork!" is pretty hilarious. Mary has a fair point that the buttons can break ... I'm not THAT good at making them yet, either. But they would be cheap and quick if we don't get organized for something better.
